It all depends on how much money you want to spend,

and how easily you pick up on the technology. There are several excellent products. I use Sony's Vegas 5 (the high end version). I have also worked with Adobe's Premier Pro. I took a course at a local college to learn how to use Premier, and that has helped me understand Vegas a lot better. There are other high end products including Pinnacle and Arvid to name a few. I think Arvid is a professional level program.

I have used one low end product (iMovie) which was very limited in what it could do. Excellent programs will probably start around $400 and go up.

I forgot one thing. These programs do crash if you've

been in a session for a while. Do frequent saves of your work so that a crash won't wipe you out. That's true of both Vegas and Premiere.
