best software for turning handycam into dvd?

Sep 15, 2004 3:38PM PDT

hello,

I am about to buy a DVD burner (win 2000 system) and it seems the only real difference is in the software bundles that come with different drives. I see plextor comes with roxio, some sony's come with nero-- any experience to share in software that turns your video into dvd? thanks - fj

the drive. It may be a lite version, or an iffy application. I buy the software elsewhere. I have used Roxio for years, and have been pleased with its operation. It is easy and intuitive to use. I tried Nero and didn't like it. I burned one disk this summer, and then could not see the files. I found later that they were there, but you needed Nero to see them. The latest reviews I've seen give the nod to Roxio for the same reasons.

The BEST software is far too expensive for the average computer user.

Ulead has several programs for video to DVD.
I use VideoStudio 7 (I think it is now VideoStudio Cool.
Go to ulead.com and check out the programs they offer.
They have free trial versions you can download.
Some of the packages have free tutorials you can download.

That's like to be Adobe Premiere, some Apple system or Avid system. Set aside about 10 to 50 K for these.
