I have had mine for about 3 months. I really give my machines a good beating since I use them alot and this one hasnt even flinched. Logic board failures, Random shut down syndrome, and all those things havent shown up on my 2 ghz macbook. The staining of the handrests has been fixed on the white models, the black models don't stain obviously. My uncle has a 19 inch iMac and he says its really amazing too, fast, reliable, etc. So it depends if you'd rather be mobile or not (i.e. laptop or desktop)
So my less-than-trusty dual usb Ibook is getting a little outdated and the Macbooks are looking more and more appealing. This lil 12" G3 has been a good companion overall (except for when the logic board gets cranky), however, I will likely need a more powerful replacement before the middle of the year to keep up with the times. I'd like to know, which of the Macbooks currently on the market is the most reliable? That is, I've heard of discoloring issues, without warning shutdowns, and other problems plaguing the new line. If only Apple would pay as much meticulous detail to the quality of it's hardware as much as they do with OSX, they could probably double their business. So, without regard to my personal spec needs, which of the apple notebooks (or iMac and MacPro for that matter) is the best in terms of hardware quality?
