I haven't seen much comment about the WX1 video performance.
But I see too many comments about its poor photos.
The TX1 has gotten good reports for photo quality.
I suspect the design teams for the WX1 and TX1 are totally different.
The TX1 team did a better job.
But the new TX7 is getting praise for the quality of its photos.
Sony has had 6 months to improve the TX1 and it looks like the time was well spent producing the TX7.
Here is a comparison of the three cameras:

You should check out the Sony site for more information on the TX7.
You can probably down load a User Manual for the TX7.

Hi folks. Unless you have a press pass, some venues do not allow DSLR, Professional Video Camcorders and Digital Prosumer ( depends on the venue ) cameras to be used whenever an event is taking place, so I'm stuck with choosing Point and shoot camera/s for video taking.
Have my eye on the Sony DSC wx1 5x optical zoom with HD video capability (5x optical zoom supposedly works even with HD movie mode, though sadly the HD cable has to be bought separately ).
Anyone here own a WX1 here and tried it for video taking? Saw some test vids with videographers using the wx1 at youtube. Though far from perfect, video and sound quality are decent. Read that photo quality with this particular model has mixed results ( from CNET )
Suggestions of point and shoot camera models from other brands ( Canon , Nikon, Fuji etc. ) and their pro's and con's ( preferably in terms of video capture and video output ) would also be appreciated. ![]()
