Best Picture quality of all TVs

I can't figure out which kind actually has the best picture quality. I've heard that the highest resolution for a projection TV (LCoS) is 1920 x 1080. Does that necesarrily mean than a plasma TV with a 1366 x 768 or 1024 x 768 resolution? And what about EDTV? Is that as good as HDTV?

I meant to say "Does that necesarrily mean that a plasma TV with a 1366 x 768 or 1024 x 768 resolution is of worse quality?"
