Question

Best phone/watch combo to buy?

Jul 17, 2016 9:36PM PDT

Kind of difficult situation so bear with me as I am not too tech savvy and have a budget/strange scenario. I discovered through my work that I get a discount on Cricket plans and am looking to switch to Cricket. I currently have an HTC Desire 626s through Virgin Mobile and it does not seem to be able to transfer. SO, I was looking into buying a AT&T Nokia Lumia 1020 that would transfer. However, I also am looking for a smart watch that I can at least receive/send texts on and none seem to work on that phone. So, what is the best phone/watch combo to go for? I am looking to hopefully spend below $100 for the phone so older models obviously(used is also acceptable if reliable retailer). Watch price is a little more lenient.

Frankly it better be free.

For me the Pebble's are nice enough.

The HTC or Nokia?

The HTC is android while the Nokia is Windows. While I have grown accustomed to my desire I am not too picky. I am only 19 and use my phone for the standard things one my age does. Like I said, my main issue is I want a smart watch that can text to be compatible.

" I was looking into buying a AT&T Nokia Lumia 1020 that would transfer. "

That's a Windows phone. And why I wrote it must be 1 dollar or free. The problem with that phone is support and apps. It's quite the desert.

there is no best

there is no best phone/watch combo. It depends on your needs for both and your needs, according to your post, may not fit with what you are willing to pay. Vector smart watch may work with the lumia 1020. Just have to do a search for watches that works with windows and go from there.

The combination I have is the note 5 and gear s2 classic.

My son has some Samsung phone and the Samsung gear watch. I'm sure the watch works with other things but Samsung does seem to play well with its own gear so he went all in.

It's the same story with the iPhone and Apple Watch.

The Best Smart watch for Android Phone

Moto 360
I would like something that is a nice watch (functional, stylish, comfortable) first, and if it had nice smart features that would be cool. To that end, the pebble isn’t stacking up as well as I’d like, but that Moto 360 does catch my eye.
I figured I would point out that thru June 9th currently on Motorola’s website they’re offering the 360 for $150 with free delivery (leather band). Since you can customize the it a bit more through Moto anyway, this seems like a better deal than Best Buy.
