best music sharing program?

by LAG / September 18, 2005 11:37 AM PDT

I've just upgraded to XP and have been reading about Kazaa lite in the forum. I had it installed on my old computer for years and never really had any problems. Could someone please suggest the best music program to download? I tried BearShare and got some extras which I didn't want, uninstalled that one. Any ideas? There are so many Kazaa download sites, can I trust any of them? Thanks.

Kazaa Lite or WinMX

I've used both for three years or more. Neither have spyware (make sure you use Kazaa LITE). Both have their strengths and weaknesses, but if you can't find what you want through them, you might as well go with legit pay sites. I still think ITunes charges waaay too much per song, since I can pay just a bit more and have the whole CD factory burned with artwork/liner notes, cheaper if I buy a used CD).

Could you give me a good link to Kazaa lite? There are so many, my daughter loaded one and got a virus. Thanks.

Having trouble finding Kazaa Lite

I'm using an older version, 2.4.3 (from way back in 2003), and the program's web link to the site doesn't work anymore. The old linked address is, and when you type the address into the address bar, it brings up I have no idea if that is safe or not. I have a couple installers for versions of the program, but not sure how to attach them to this thread. Have you tried WinMX yet?

I appreciate your emails but I couldn't reply as you have not set your email function on in your profile.

Despite your representations I have decided to keep the thread locked. The original poster, Lag, has not contacted me and until he does, I assume he is attempting to do what the subject of this discussion says, find the ''best music sharing program'', meaning he wants to share music.

It is up to him now.

Sorry, but
by MarkFlax Forum moderator / September 18, 2005 7:44 PM PDT

I am locking this thread.

The talk is tending towards downloads using Kazaa, Kazaa Lite, WinMX or other P2P utilities.

In general, such programs are used to breach copyright rules and obtain music, video and software titles for free rather than paying for them. This is Piracy and cannot be supported on these forums. Therefore the discussion is locked.

If the original poster can convince me why I should unlock it, I will consider doing so. Please email me if you wish through my profile.
