Sansa does make an 8GB Fuze for $70 currently on Amazon. And you can expand the storage capacity up to 24GB via its microSD slot. I've liked my Fuze (when I've actually use it, which admittedly isn't much these days since I mostly rely on my Zune HD), and never thought its battery life was a weakness. And yes, it does have FM radio.
I've had reasonable success loading a small (2.0 GB) Sansa mp3 player from my MacBook/iTunes. Not happy with the battery or capacity at this point, and want to upgrade. Would love an iPod but can't afford one at this point.
I want this for music listening ONLY, though FM is nice. I figure 8 to 16 GB should be enough and want something that makes organizing and accessing my selections reasonably easy.
That, and a good record for reliability/service.
p.s. Thinking new or possibly refurb., under $100.00. Am I dreaming?
