Best Mac-compatible external storage device

Hi there,

I'm looking for a mac-compatible storage device to back up my laptop with.

The details of my system are below:

Processor is 2.1Ghz Intel Core 2 Duo
Mac OS X Version 10.5.8
Memory: 4GB 667 MHz DDR2 SDRAM

I'd ideally spend up to around $150 mark (so I think I would be looking at 1TB)

In addition, I was looking at something that can back-up from a 'network' - i.e. that won't need to be connected to my laptop in order to backup.

In addition, it would be great if the device had an option to 'schedule' backups - say for once a day.

Would anyone have any thoughts? I'm not the biggest tech-savvy person out there so any help would be much appreciated.

Warm regards.
