Best listening/hearing phone

I don't know what the 'tech' term is for this, but I have had LG phones for the better part of 4 years. I have never been happy with the ability to 'hear' the person on the other 'end' of the conversation. When I use my daughter's Samsung, I hear much better. Is this my imagination? I would like a phone that is not so 'muffled' when I am listening to the other person. Verizon is my provider. Could anyone give me some suggestions of phones that have not only good "listening" ability, but I text (often) and use my camera (sporadically) as well.

My husband has trouble hearing his samsung phone

I can be in the house and he's on the porch, I can hear his phone ring even though he can't. Is there any way we can find another phone with a louder ring .

He also has a friend who is losing his eyesight. Is there a phone out there that is reasonly priced that has larger numbers. Thank you so much for any help you could providd me with. Sincenery, Kathy
