Best linux for ASUS ZenBook UX306UA

by vanpaddypower / May 18, 2016 5:20 AM PDT

I am pre-purchasing ASUS ZenBook UX306UA, which comes with win 10. I intend to delete all partitions on the SSD and then install Linux on "clear" SDD. What would be the best distrubition of Linux for it? Ubuntu or Mint maybe?

Here's the Linux distros I run
by R. Proffitt Forum moderator / May 18, 2016 10:09 AM PDT

1. TAILS. I use this when I travel for reasons.
2. Ubuntu. Why? Because it was the only one that worked without effort on my part on my Intel NUC.
3. Linux Mint. This is my preferred big distro.
4. Puppy Linux. This is my preferred small distro.

It's like picking your transportation. You have a bike, car, public transit, armored car (TAILS) and by foot.

Those that want the one vehicle for all occasions may want a fire truck. It hauls a lot of people and gear and will put out a fire in a pinch. But even I won't opt for that so I use 4 different distros.

most linux distros can run from usb,cd, or dvd. You can run it to see if you like it before installing. I personally use Linux Mint KDE version.
