best laptop for audio production

im looking for a pc notebook with a whole lotta ram that would be up to the challenge of audio production...i plan on usuing ACID 4.0 and Reason and maybe cubase....i would have gone with a g4 laptop but ACID doesnt run on the mac

The bottom line is that NO laptop has a decent audio system. As that is the way it is.... You have to look at what you will do about that.

What external audio cards/USB/other units does Acid support?

It's unlikely a nice laptop with 512M RAM and any current CPU will strain under Acid, but the audio on a laptop is just a terrible thing.

*cries* crap, i need me a portable audio production setup, and i dont wanna buy a MPC or some ****....

try rain computers they are setup for music production and the audio is superb or for lower cost the hp laptops with dr dre beats audio.
