Best laptop brands

Im an inoming civil engineering college student and I have decided the specs ill need for my laptop for school. Because ill be running CAD 2d and 3d programs, im looking for 6GB, 640g hard drive, i5 or i7, atleast 15inch screen, and 1gb graphics card. based on these specs, what brand laptop is best?
ive looked at asus and like their stuff and have been recomended HP, but how do these and other companies compare?

You are looking at run of mill Ford and Chevy machines. If I wanted to look at the best brand that has to be Apple.

But are you shopping for the best brand or for a nice laptop at the price you are willing to pay?

ya im reall just looking for the best bang for my buck. im not too familiar with laptop brands and how they compare, so i was just curious is some brands were far better than others, or if it was pretty even
