Best IT career plan for me?

May 9, 2011 6:05AM PDT
Hello everyone...first post for me. I am needing advice on the best route to take in my path to become an IT guru Happy I have been doing various roles in a virtual company for nearly 4 years now. I would like to get back into school (grad school) but not sure which degree is the best for me or to provide the best opportunities. I have experience in the business side of the company (which I hope to continue with) as well as programming, networking, database and server admin, site admin, and support. To put it simply, I am in a director's role and serve as the connect between the business and IT sides of the company. My reason for choosing grad school rather than a certification track is to become an online teacher for some local colleges. What would be the best graduate school degree/program for me moving forward? If you know of certain schools (preferably online programs), please include. Any advice is helpful!

Just a thought.

While my thoughts are we are moving to the Post-PC world with more tablets and less PCs you still need the folk to write the apps and more. There's also some movement away from classic servers and to some box with multiple CPUs on blades creating a cloud on the premises.

These changes are going to catch those that are thinking classic Windows unaware. And some will dig in their heels harder than a government mule.

this phrase "dig in their heels harder than a government mule." would have triggered it.
