This is the Webware forum so I assume you need some sort of application that will open all files in a web page.

I simply cannot imagine why that would be, so tell us more please.

I wouldn't use such. I would use the original programs.

- For .docx and .xslx that are the free viewers from Microsoft.
- For .pdf that's Adobe Reader or Foxit reader or Nitro reader.
- For audio and video files there are a host of free players, like Windows Media Player, VLC player, Quicktime and even Irfanview, which is quite useful for all kind of pictures also.

All are free, so why not use them?

Best Freeware Universal File Opener

Maybe I'm compulsive! I thought that it would be nice to have a great application with a great gui. Put a file in,its opened, like "Unlocker" unlocks most files in use. Can you suggest a better forum,or is this a silly question from a compulsive--me? Nooffence! Advise.

Define "Open"
Jul 1, 2011 5:39AM PDT

What do you mean by "Open".

EG

.exe files either install an application or open an application. How do you want this utility to 'open' that?

Music files - Any media player will 'open' them to play them.

Image files - Any image editor will open them to be viewed.

So, you want a utility that opens all of these?

Great application with a great GUI.

That's Windows Explorer. Just doubleclick on the file and it's opened.
What more to wish?
