Best email for new computer with Windows 7 Professional

Sep 17, 2015 8:28AM PDT

What are others finding works best for email in Windows 7? I have to get a new computer and don't want W8 or W10, so it will be W7. But I am a HUGE fan of my XP Outlook Express. What have others found best? My email is filled with business correspondence, official documents, etc. and I MUST be able to transfer all the unsorted and sorted emails to the new computer without any kind of hitch!!

Outlook has it's Calendar that I use for tracking stuff, Thunderbird is my nod to when I need it across Windows, Linux, Android, and Apple.

I read and store all of my emails online with the service I subscribe to. I found it was easier and safer to do it this way so I never have to worry about losing them if the harddrive crashes, if getting a new computer, able to access my email no matter the computer or device.

I have several email accounts with most of the major email services (yahoo, outlook, gmail, inbox, mail and others). I have one main email account and set it up so it can receive pop or forwarded mails from all the other accounts. I leave a copy of the server. This way I will always have two copies of my emails.

IMO, this is the best way.

Since I can assume that you are wanting to move from xp outlook express, it will not be easy and you will be lucky if there are not any hitches. There has been too many changes.
