If you're looking for quality over quantity (meaning good quality without the pricetag to go with it) I suggest the Shure E2c earphones. I have no complaint about those, they run for around a $100 or less depending where you get it. I never really tried it running but I'm sure its good to go. I tried the ER6 Etymotic earphones while running and their "so so".

As far as in ear head phones go these are the best available at this price. the bass is strong and punchy with superb detail from the highs to the lows. these are a near perfect match for your mp3 player or if you like to listen to music on your pc and a standard cd player, they handle any genre of music witch is handy if like me you have a vairied preferance of music. very comfortable as well

Koss Portapro
Oct 20, 2005 12:40PM PDT

I have used the Koss Portapros for years while running. They are light, have fantastic sound, stay on the head during jogging (they are headband type phones) and have a LIFETIME replacment warranty. I have destroyed two phones already and Koss has replaced them each time for only a $6.00 handling fee!

They only cost around $50.00 list and you can find them cheaper.

I would go to http://www.headwize.com/ or http://www.headphone.com/ , two good headphones sites, for recommendations and reviews. It was from these sites that I went with the Koss units, and I have never been sorry.

The best sound isolating earphone for running that I have seen is the Soundwise S6. I don't have myself but a girl in the gym has. I recommended the Soundwise G3 to her but she went for the S6 as it has a detachable over ear hanger. It looks cool, actually anything looks good on her??

i know how you feel. im on my schools track team and i need lightweight headphones that allow me to run long distances without having them fall off. the best style for that are the new in-ear headphones. i found them for really cheap at www.earbudzstore.com. they had fast reliable shipping and their product has such high quality. its kinda too good to be true, you know?

here, these are the ones i got and i am more than satisfied with them

I've gotton away from bluetooth for running

I've tried several wireless earbuds for running and was never satisfied with their uneven performance. I finally tried the Arriva phones with the Ipod 1 mb shuffle. You do have to buy the shuffle as well as the earbuds, but the total was still only about $80. The Shuffle is limited storage wise at only 1gb, and few option for queing the playback list, but as dedicated player for running, its perfect.
Here's areference for this combo:http://www.bestearbuds.org/arriva-cordless-ipod-shuffle-headphones.html

2 things I would concider when looking at headphones while running are sound quality and wireless. With new wireless technology out there, I would concider the Solo wireless MP3 player. I am a runner and the wireless aspect of the Solo unit is great! It's the easiest MP3 player that I have owned to date. I was very impressed with the sound quality and I love the fact that there is no software to upload in order to use the unit. I was amazed that it would take all types of file including protected files. It can store audiobooks also but I dont listen to audiobooks. When you turn the unit off and turn it back on, it will start from the point that you turned it off at which I like also. I got mine from Amazon.com ( look for Solo wireless digital mp3 player )but you can check out their website at www.audioshape.com.

Hope this helps!

Yurbuds
Jun 3, 2010 4:00AM PDT

I would recommend that you use yurbuds. ( www.yurbuds.com ) They are custom fit buds that fit over your earbuds and ensure them to stay in and feel great. I wear mine for all my runs and I forget that I even have them in, plus they sound great.

Ever notice that all earbuds are essentially the same?
Aug 25, 2010 9:18PM PDT

I am sick of all the claims about earbuds for running. All the manufacturers include the little round tips that you have to shove in your ear canals. No way for me. After a while they really bother me and when it is humid or I sweat, they just pop right out.

So far the only earbud that I recently found at a Marathon event that is different is called a "yurbud". The design of them is so different that I can't exactly convey it well. The shape sits in the shelf of the ear vs. the canal. I just went to their website www.yurbuds.com and they have a funny video at the bottom of their home page that pretty much explains it all.

YURBUDS!!
Aug 31, 2010 2:48AM PDT

My favorite pair of earbuds to use while running HAS to be Yurbuds. I used to have the problem of my old headphones falling out or shorting out due to the amount of sweat/water that got on them while running (VERY frusturating). My friend told me to try yurbuds. They're these buds that you just put on your ipod headphones and NEVERRRRR fall out! Seriously, you can head bang hardcore in these which is AWESOME for runners. The sound quality is outrageous since theyre shaped to direct the sound right into your ear drum. Also, they are by far the most comfortable ear bud i've ever purchased.
You send in a picture of your ear with a quarter next to it or with an earbud in and they give you your size. It's all very individual and has a personal touch. These really are YOUR buds. The material theyre made out of is soft enough to be uber comfortable while also having the grip to stay in. check them out

i think this is the website: www.yurbuds.com
