either Canon T1i ( 500D ) or Nikon D5000 may suit your requirement

depends on the video though

In reply to: I think..

The T1i or D5000 will require you to pretty much set up the shots ahead of time. The D5000 doesn't autofocus and the you have to hit the autofocus button each time you want the focus to change on the T1i. Both have subpar mics, with no input for an external one.

If you want beautiful/artistic shots that you can set up for and plan, then buy a T1i or D5000, but if you plan to use it for regular use then look elsewhere. Depends on what you want, but the Canon SX110 and SX10 are supposed to have very good video quality.

Looking for the best "combo" machine that does both decently

Checked it out at Best Buy..w/ the 4 AA batteries loaded, just seems needlessly heavy...

Didnt' think it would be a problem

With you thinking of a DSLR, I didn't think the SX10 would be a problem because it's smaller than a DSLR.

Help, my PC with Windows 10 won't shut down properly

Since upgrading to Windows 10 my computer won't shut down properly. I use the menu button shutdown and the screen goes blank, but the system does not fully shut down. The only way to get it to shut down is to hold the physical power button down till it shuts down. Any suggestions?
