There are no digital point-and-shoot cameras with a wide angle lens.
However, all digital cameras can perform as point-and-shoot cameras if you leave them in automatic mode.
The camera with the widest lens is the Nikon 8400; with a 24mm focal length (35mm equivalent). This camera sells for a bit over $700. It has a pretty powerful flash (rated for 19.7 feet).
I suggest you go to a camera store where you can get your hands on a Nikon 8400. See if it covers the amount of area that you want.
Here is a 21 page review of the 8400:

I am an interior designer who wants to take my own photos of my client's interiors for both before and after shots. What would be the best camera under $1,000 that is point-and-shoot for the most part without fussing with a bunch of settings and without changing lenses? Please advise. ![]()
