General discussion

best current tv for games

Judging by the best HDTV's overall list and my wallet, my choice has been narrowed down to the Samsung PN50B650 and the Panasonic TC-P50G10. Buyers of the former bash the latter and vice versa. The TV will mainly be used in conjunction with my 360. According to the reviews here, the Samsung has moderately better colors and the Panasonic has moderately better black levels. Which property has a greater impact on game visuals: color or black level? I also heard the Samsung has a slightly worse time with IR than the Panasonic. And one last question: has anyone noticed that in the Best HDTV's overall list, the Samsung is a few TV's on top of the Panasonic, but in the best 5, the Panasonic is on top of the Samsung. If the list goes by rating, how does that work out?
