General discussion

Best choice with these features?

I know exactly what I want, just not the model that has it all. Thanks allot for any suggestions Happy

- 4 megapixels
- >3x optical zoom
- compact model
- rechargeable battery (with a ?AA? option?)
- >2? LCD
- high-speed start/load time
- durable (not necessarily waterproof, but I will be traveling)

Other perks would be the ability to turn off the LCD to save battery life while shooting, and mid to high quality video.

I've looked at the Canon SD300, a few FujiFilm and Olympus . . .

My first thought was.....there must be a dozen cameras that fit that description.

Well......I found only two, and they are not available yet.

Sony S60 and Sony S90
These are exactly alike except that the S90 has a 2.5" LCD.

Amazon.com lists them this way:
S60 - Available April 15 at $250
S90 - Available April 07 at $300

I don't know if you can turn off the LCD to save battery life.

Here is the press release on these two cameras:

Thanks allot for the advice - I've still got some time before I go ahead with the purchase, so I should be able to hold off if needed. Thans again!
