Best Choice for Mobile Internet Carrier/device

Jun 21, 2004 10:44AM PDT

I am looking to purchase a device for mobile internet and a data plan very soon. I was looking for opinions on either of these topics. I am going to use it only for email and internet and probably just as much as both. I am thinking of the T-Mobile Sidekick, Blackberry 7230, or TREO 600 (or similar PDA phone). I would really appreciate any help on the topic.
THanks

I've been using the Treo 600 for 3 months and have found it to be wonderful. When I bought it it was top-rated and I haven't found anything to beat it yet. I've read in the news that they are looking at releasing a non-camera version but, per review of the palm website just now, it hasn't been made available yet.

Check out the website http://www.palmone.com/us/products/smartphones/treo600/ for more info.

I've had my Treo 600 for about a week, and my husband has had his for about a month. We love them, the functionality is great. We have had trouble syncing to one PC, 2 users, the PC is running Win XP with 2 user accounts. We have not resolved it yet.

I just bought the Blackberry 7280. My husband has the Treo for about 3 months. I just converted from a kyrocera smart phone.

We both love our phones. I can't believe I went with a non-palm based system, but I have. My husband does not utilize email on his treo, but we do TM each other throughout the day, and both of us are very comfortable with the tools we have selected.

Here are some of the differences that affected me personally in my decision:

1. The weight and feel of the 7280 was just more comfortable.
2. Ditching the stylus.
3. Keyboard feel and ease of use
4. Majority of my corporate clients on blackberry.

As you can see, all very "personalized reasons". You will not go wrong with either choice.
