General discussion

Best choice 1000.00 and under?

Nov 13, 2010 2:33AM PST

I am new to the forum...I will spend some time searching previous posts when I get a chance. I will be buying my first SLR and want to make sure I get the most bang for the buck, in addition to getting a camera that will be user friendly to a newbie. I am looking at the Sony a33, Canon T2i and for slightly more the Nikon D90. Any others that would be a better fit? Should I forgo the kit lenses and buy an upgraded lens? Thanks in advance for helping a new guy!

Wow...this seems like a dead forum. I was hoping to get some replies. BTW: does this forum have a search function?

While you didn't get a reply I see the problem.

That price might be in some country, state or town. You might have to tell more to get a decent answer. For me, my 1K buck would be some DSLR.

But my lesson over the years is to not pop for lenses at first but see what I can do with the stock lens.

Thanks for the reply Bob...I am in Florida, USA. I've read as many reviews as I could and it seems to Sony a55 and Canon T2i are very close in specs and performance. These are at the top of my list. I was hoping someone might suggest others in the same price range that I should consider as well, bearing in mind that I will be a new SLR user (so ease of use is very important).

You do not get instant replies as this is not a chat room.
In a Forum, you post your question and wait for an answer.
It could take a day or so.

The search window is at the top of the page.
That blank window on the black background with the red magnifying glass on the right.
