Best Cell service in NYC

Looking to change cell providers, but just don't know who to go with. I currently have sprint, love their service but hate their phones. Who has the best service in NYC?

I think Verizon has the best service overall. I have had ATT and Verizon, and currently I can definitely say Verizon is the best. My brother switched from Sprint to Verizon, he is much happier now. ATT, Cingular and T-Mobile are all on GSM network and currently the service is spotty. It will be a few years before they have better coverages. I don't know enough about Nextel to comment.
One caveat, however, Verizon's phones overall are not pretty and not a good selection. I also recommend a tri-mode phone (as opposed to all-digital) as it covers both digital and analog service areas. Here your choices are down to about 5 or 6 phones.
Good luck

And if you want a flip phone with Verizon Wireless that's tri-mode, you're basically limited to LG VX3200, Samsung SCH-a650, and anything by Motorola. Otherwise Verizon flip phones are the first to go all-digital (CDMA). The regular handsets are still tri-mode, to my knowledge. And I find Verizon Wireless a great service, though I haven't been to New York yet. There's a good chance Verizon Wireless is good there with plenty of network towers around the city, just like Chicago does and get full strength in most neighborhoods of Chicago. And Verizon's phone selection could be better, but Verizon Wireless has strict criteria that phone makers must abide to if they want to sell their phones to Verizon Wireless. One of them is they must have external antennas. I don't know about the rest, but the external antenna is one thing Nokia hates putting on their phones. If you look at the GSM carriers (T-Mobile, Cingular, & AT&T), Nokia phones don't have external antennas. Some Samsung phones with T-Mobile don't have them either, nor LG. That's why you find a larger selection with other carriers, based on the antennas. There's other reasons, but I wouldn't know those reasons.
