Information about lens cap (or not) is never found in the specifications that the manufacturer releases.
But I would look at any of the new compact super zoom cameras.
Such as the Panasonic ZS1 and ZS3.
They don't look like a lens cap can be used on them.
Just about all of the small digital cameras do well with macro.
A Tip: It is very difficult to hold a camera steady enough for macro usage. You really need a tripod to get the best results.

Hi,
I'm looking for a camera for my 11 year-old daughter. She would like a good macro and good resolution. Size is not a factor, so a super zoom, as long as it had a automatic lens cover, would be fine (she is very responsible, but why risk the whole lens cap thing). Our price range is up to about $350. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks,
Jen
