Best camcorder to use with Premiere Elements 2.0??

May 31, 2006 12:25AM PDT

Hi everyone.

Okay, I don't know a whole lot about camcorders and am looking to buy one so a friend can video our upcoming wedding. Afterwards, I would like to edit the footage and burn it onto a dvd.

What's the best way to go about doing this? I can't spend a whole lot, but I'd love to have something that we can use in the future. Thanks in advance!

Any mini-dv with firewire will work with your editing software.
What is your price range??
What features are you looking for??

I'm trying to follow the specs suggested by CNet for a buyer wanting a home movie/vacation use camcorder:

That being said, we cannot afford to spend a great deal on this camcorder, but we would like it to last for a few years and give us some good footage from our wedding.

I had been looking at the Panasonic PV-GS65 3-CCD MiniDV Camcorder w/10x Optical Zoom. It's $539 on Amazon - that would probably be our max price. Any ideas? Thanks in advance!
