Rant

Best Buy Price Match.

Jun 11, 2015 5:52PM PDT

I haven't seen this discussion yet, so here goes. About a year and a half ago, I bought an IPad at Best Buy. I paid $499.00 for it. The next week their ad had it for $449.00. Being they are about 20 miles from where I live, I didn't get right out there for a refund. I made it a couple of weeks later. I went to get my refund and was told the computer wouldn't let them do it. Their policy had shortened from 30 days to 14 days. It was charged on my Best Buy credit card, so I wrote the credit card people, and was told sorry. I had been a loyal customer of theirs for years, but I haven't stepped foot in one of their stores since. I figure if they're that worried about $50.00, after all the money I've spent there over the years, the hell with them. There are plenty of other places in town, and closer to us, for us to buy from. Thank You for letting me rant. Tom PS: Make sure you return within the 14 days.

I have my own list of "never again" businesses. I share it with close friends and family and the reasons, but don't go major public with it. One example is a $50 modem which never worked and I used all contacts to the business and they never replied on a single one, they didn't back the product at all, and were a major electronics firm. I've since boycotted them as my family members have on my request since the days of dialup. Another cheat is now gone, was called Western Auto. Those however were franchised stores, so some were good, some cheats. Age 13, purchase a bicycle, cheap metal and bent on a bump. Took back twice and always "manager not here, come later". Had mother go in a week later and ask for the manager and suddenly the same guy there was him. So, she motioned, I brought the bike in, and he looked like the deer in the headlights. Got the money back and never went to that store again. Never used any of the others after then either. Eventually they went bankrupt and had to reorganize and I think merged to become a new business I won't mention that is very good now about service.
