Best budget camcorder for a beggining film student?

I'm currently in college finsishing up my associates of art degree but after that I want to transfer to a film school and was wondering whats the best camcorder around $200-$300 for a film student? Thx

...best to ask the school to recommand a model, one on which the course is based on, or which contain the features that you will be learning or come accrss during the course ...After the course, you can decide whether to keep ot, or buy a better model - you will then have all the knowldge to make your decision.

you wont find a cam for $200-$300 that would be suitable for a film school. try $1000

They have cameras you check out for the lab assignments. And yes, we also gifted him a miniDV camcorder with the requisite firewire cable.
