Best Basic MFP for IMAC

I have had a lot of trouble with multi-function printers interfacing and playing well with my IMAC sometimes they won't print, wont scan or work at all. I was told by a Machead that there are certain brands that work well any recs?

While I do like the Canon's I've had over the years the usual complaint I get is after a few years when a driver is no longer updated.

That is, if you had a non-functional MF printer it's no big deal if it doesn't work as you pack it up and exchange it for a working one. This is why I wonder if your troubles are the usual. That is, years later.

I use Epson printers.

I have an Epson Artisan 810 which I purchased directly from Epson from their refurbished page at
I've had it for 8 years now, the 1 year warranty ran out a long time ago but, touch wood, it has no major problems.
The only problem with them is that the print head is not part of the ink cart and if the printer is not used on a very regular basis, the heads become blocked and streaky print, or no print, can result.
Patient work with head cleaner through empty carts, purchased refurbed and empty, usually gets the thing back in business.

As you can see, printer choice is a personal thing.
