Question

Best Bang for Buck Mechanical Keyboards - Help me Decide :)

Sep 18, 2015 9:16AM PDT

Hey Folks,

I'm at a bit of cross roads. I don't usually game that much anymore, simply because, well I've run out of games. LOL. After playing WoW to lvl 90 for a few years, I found it to samey samey. So I ventured off, and finished Skyrim, Dragons Age Oirigins, DA-I as well, and Diablo series.

Anyway I'm looking at Final Fantasy XIV - Reborn, Thought it'd be fun. I already have a system in place so this isn't about all that, but

What do I do for a keyboard? My pc is normally used for music creation, to that I only use a logitech wireless keyboard & mouse. But while I did try gaming with it, uh..hrmm... the lag drove me mental.

So I'm on the hunt for a good quality mechanical switch keyboard. Understand I play an accoustic piano, so my hand strength is uh well a little more than most say, and when I use the logitech (rubber dome), I feel like i'm pushing the keys through the keyboard. Anyway, that said, My thoughts are towards cherry blue or browns, although the lower sound click of the browns tends to win my favor, I don't need the clicky noise.

Brings me to Ducky Shine 3 vs Ducky Zero vs Corsair K70 VS Gskill RipJaws. I wouldn't add Corsair K95, becuze I simply wouldn't use all those function / macro keys.

Simply put: cherry switches
BLUE LED (Preferred, RGB is only a nice add on)
Media Keys are a bonus (but only really need volume up/dn/mute

So what do you all think? Have any idea for keyboard NOT listed here, add it in.

Thanks a bunch.

keyboard lag

when your playing an mmorpg, and you have a "wireless" keyboard, it is a given that there could be a higher lag and response time compared to the wired counter-part. at least that's what I experienced.

Here I'm not seeing it.

I dunno maybe I'm missing something here, not to sound ungrateful for your input, but I believe the thread was asking to help decide on what wired mechanical keyboard might be most apprpriate, not what's wrong with my wireless setup. Thanks for your help with the wireless stuff, appreciate that, will keep your thoughts in mind, next time I run into a problem with it.
