Question

Belkin NetCam

Mar 18, 2013 1:19AM PDT

I have recently purchased two Belkin NetCams. They work great and the free iPad app is easy. I would like to connect video from an outdoor camera to a module that would show up on an app like NetCam. Thinking about breaking into the Belkin unit to see if I can find the video feed. Anyone tried this or know of a module that would work? Thanks. Julian

Answer
I'm sure few have tried it.

Tell us how it turns out and if I wanted to get that camera on the web, I'd look at something like a -> IP Video 9100A Plus Network Video Server <-

NetCam

The NetCam is wireless so it is already on the web. I also have a Q7404 and DNS service. The desire to use an app for the iPad is that the app makes things much simpler than the IP system.

Then replace the old camera with the Belkin Netcam.

I guessed you already had the old camera wired and running but just needed the last item to get it on the network.

As to hacking the Belkin, I doubt anyone has done that and await your results.
