But mine has the latest firmware and I know to change RF channels to accomodate new wifi users in my area.
Trying the "diy" approach and would simply like to be sure I'm not doing my (currently working) setup in. At present, I've got Comcast cable coming into a D-link modem (I am having problems keeping connected, apparently a common problem with d link, but this will become a moot point I hope); I want to replace the modem with a Netgear wireless gateway. Current modem is hardwired to router w wireless access point. 2 desktops are hardwired to router and 2 laptops work just fine with the access point. Plan is to replace d link modem with a netgear gateway, pop 2 Netgear wireless nic's in the desktops and pray. Should everything work? Am I overlooking something? Any recommendations re: gateway and/or nic's? Thanks for any input.
(ps - searched this forum on "gateway" ...0 hits...?)
