beepcodes

Sep 13, 2006 9:32PM PDT

I thought I heard 3 beeps coming from my iBook G3 800 Mhz 10.4.7, 640MB SDRAM. I have a few computers and a Sirius on the same desk and I'm not totally sure who the culprit is but am reasonably sure its from the Mac. What does the 3 beeps mean? Thanks.

Beep Codes

Basically there are no beep codes for the Mac. It does not have a BIOS as such, which is normally where the beeps are generated from.

There used to be a set of sounds for various problems, the sound of breaking glass for bad memory, but the only noise that you should here from a Mac starting up is the normal Boot Chime.

If you can reproduce the sound, maybe we can go from there

Actually, false alarm. It wasn't coming from my iBook but I from my wifes HP laptop...I think. Thanks for the info
