beep codes on PVC-RX550 Sony Desktop

Mar 10, 2006 12:51AM PST

Our Sony RX550 computer still works quite well with a P4 1.5 Gigahrtz processor however we are daily being interrupted by a beeping sound that sometimes freezes the system requiring us to reboot the computer from the button on the front of the case. I cannot find any reference to beepcodes. The sound is a two pitch sound from high to lower pitch(BeeBaa, BeeBaa, BeeBaa)I've openned the case removing the power supply to get to the CPU fans and blown out dust from the system. I've reseated the Ram and modem. I had resently replaced the modem with one I had laying around it's a Dell modem, and it seem to work just fine. Can anyone tell me what these sounds refer to or lead me in the right direction to keep this computer working.

Tom
