Miztiki,
The mp3-players aren't designed to be used with your nice Sennheiser. Wrong impedance or not enough power in the small battery, who can tell? Did you ask the shop already what they think about it?
A possible solution might be a wireless (Bluetooth) headphone (with rechargeable batteries of course). You don't need an mp3-player then, but plug the 'sending side' of the wireless set into your PC (a spare USB port, probably, or maybe a PCI-card).
Revisit Best Buy, and see if you can get a refund for your mp3-player. You'll need that 80$! I don't suppose you can get a refund for hubby
.
Hope this helps.

I'm way behind the times. I need someone to take me under their wing and explain to me what all this new stuff is that they sell in stores.
I got a new computer the other day and I got a set of Sennheiser HD 120 headphones last week. I (legally) downloaded a bunch of my favorite songs (yes, Hank Williams is cool) and was ready for the next step.
Today I went to Best Buy to see what kind of stuff is on the market nowadays. Wow.
Anyway, I wanted to be able to listen to all my songs while I'm cleaning the house, or in my car. We don't have a nice stereo system and never will. My husband cries if the sound is up at all. That's why I have headphones.
I was looking for a portable device. I downloaded most of my songs from Walmart and it says that they cannot be played on iPod, so no iPods for me.
I was shown the MP3 player rack. Good grief, they were all expensive! They were all very, very small too.
I bought an iRiver T30 player for $80, which was one of the cheapest. The volume is good with the cheapy earbuds but it doesn't get loud at all with my Senn's. I emailed iRiver about it and hope to hear back from them. My Senn's sound very good, and loud if I want, on my pc.
Despite the volume being low, the sound isn't good. I've messed with all the buttons and fiddled with the EQ and SRS and all that but it still doesn't sound good. The same songs sound very good when I plug my headphones into my pc. Actually I plug them into the speakers on my desk.
Is that just the way MP3 players are? Or just this particular type/brand? I know the headphones are not the problem.
I thought $80 was ridiculous so I really don't want to buy a player that's twice as much. Would an amplifier make a big difference? I have a vague idea of what an amplifier is nowadays.
Can someone help me please? My music sounds like crap on this thing. Am I just doing it all wrong?
Oh yeah, I also bought that adapter thingy that goes into the cigarette lighter so that it plays through my car speakers. I haven't opened the package yet because I'm not sure if I'll keep this thing or not. If there's a way to make it sound decent and get the volume up then yeah. At the moment though, I'm totally disappointed but I don't know if that's just the way these things are, or if I picked a bad one, or if it's me.
Please help!
Miz
p.s. I know Hank is old and tinny sounding or whatever but I have some other stuff, like ''Shut Up'' from the Black Eyed Peas (I sing it to my husband!) and that sounds like crap too.
p.p.s. Yes I did upgrade it or whatever so that it's running the latest 1.5 version instead of the 1.2. That didn't help any.
