Bearshare

I signed up with Bearshare a few weeks ago. All went well and downloaded a lot of music files (free) to my Sony MP3 player. After a few days not using it, now comes up with a statement cannot connect, update software and renew license. I had paid the $1.00 monthly charge but hopefully I don't have issues having to update something every time. (I haven't tried accessing my PC library yet) . Any thoughts?
