Be careful with Nero apps...

Feb 4, 2006 5:46AM PST

I installed the Nero app, Nero 6 Suite, that came with my Lightscribe drive. I also bought Nero 7 Ultra and after playing with Nero 6 Suite a couple of weeks I liked it so much that I decided to install Nero 7.

The problems I came upon regard InCD 4. I installed InCD 4 from Nero 6 Suite. I tried to un-install it but my optical drives would disappear. I tried everything I could to get rid of InCD 4 but it messed my PC up so bad that I had to do an OS reinstall. That caused some serious headaches on my RAID system, too.

I love the Nero main programs...excellent...but InCD 4 is worse than the plague.

I recently updated to Roxio 8 and let it install their packet writer (directcd) and it wounded my slide show program (ProShow Gold).

Everytime I tried to write a DVD slide show, I would get write errors.

Removed directcd and my slide show problem went away.
