bdt460 firmware trouble

I recently purchased a bdt460 3d bluray player and it worked well. On April 2nd a message popped up about a firmware update and I proceeded to install it. Since installation the machine is extremely laggy and slow. The menus take forever to load as does trying to select anything in them. Any help would be appreciated!
