Your description doesn't sound to me like normal operation at all. See if you can exchange it for a different unit from your retailer. If not, we do have a service center where you can send it in and get it repaired under the warranty. Either way you want, we can address the issue and get your unit working.

Hi, just received a BDP-1500. Got it out of the box and hooked it up to my Series 6 Samsung TV with an HDMI Cable. I switch my TV to the correctinput and switch on the BDP-1500 and I get a Samsung screen come up on the TV. The display on the BDP-1500 says 'Load' then a few seconds later the TV loses signal (Goes blue) and nothing further happens. The BDP-1500 just says 'Load' and I've left it like that for 5 minutes with no further activity. I have tried turning both the TV and the BDP1500 on and off and have replaced the HDMI cable with a different type.
Do you think the BDP-1500 is faulty?
