bdp 1000 disc wont play

Hi I own a bdp 1000 which plays all bluray discs upto 2007 and all dvds
to present day, however 2008 bluray discs wont play, put disc in unit it ejects and says cannot play this disc, if i persist and keep reloading ie upto twenty minutes with unit constantly ejecting eventually it loads,allbeit very slowly and in bits I have downloaded the 1.9 version of firmware, and tried to play bluray disc Forbidden Kingdom still took twenty four insertions before it loaded, Once loaded it plays perfect without fault. any suggestions

The way I'm reading this, you're having trouble playing many Blu-Ray discs, correct?

If that is the case, your unit may require service. 24 insertions is by no means considered "normal operation".

Hi Thanks for yor reply, My player is a little over twelve months old,
It plays all discs except 2008 bluray discs, I have spoken to samsung uk and they say they will send me the latest fimware update, I will try this and let you know the outcome, regards jim.

i recieved the firmware update disc this morning after succesfully installing i tried to load the bluray disc Felon which took six insertions before it would load, so it looks like i will have to get my unit serviced, Will keep you posted.

Hi, after updating my machine and it still not playing new titles, i was advised to try clearing the cache on the unit, I switched the unit on with no disc in and pressed the forward skip key until the screen flashed off and back on asking for language selection, i then placed a disc which previously would not play into the unit and low and behold it loaded immediately as did all my other discs,
