BD3600 - Trouble with Internet Service Test

May 6, 2009 3:13AM PDT

I am having with the wireless internet feature of the BD3600. Once I first bought the unit, I was able to set up the wireless internet and access Netflix and Pandora. However, when I shut off the machine and then turn it back on, I fail the "Internet Service Test" under Network Setup, and I cannot access Netflix or Pandora. I have already returned one unit and the second one I got has the same problem. Samsung technical support could only tell me to do a hard reset and then reload the info, which worked until I turned off the machine again. I am using an AT&T Uverse modem with wireless capability. I have already tried resetting the modem, to no avail. I would also note that other wireless equipment in my home are able to connect without a problem.

Anyone have any thoughts or suggestions? Movies look great on this machine, but I want the Netflix/Pandora to work too.

firewall?
May 6, 2009 3:30AM PDT

Is your wireless blocking it via its firewall?

One thing you could do is go to your wireless[router] web page (the one where you setup all the stuff) and go and look at the DCHP client list page and see if the P3600 appears in the list.

Usually you'll see your pc or other equipment connected. If the P3600 appears in the list then there is something else causing the issue (port forwarding etc) if not then it means your P3600 is not connecting to your network... I have had fun in the past helping people who have been connecting to someone down the streets wireless then complain when it stops working Happy

Thanks

Thanks, I will check that tonight. I am thinking that is not the problem, if only because it does work at first. If the firewall were the issue, wouldn't it never work?

IP conflict etc

Maybe and maybe not. Sometimes you can end up with it using a different IP address and getting blocked, or using an IP address already in use (I've had that happen with a LAN printer deciding to use the same IP address as a laptop on the network, even though they are both supposed to use DCHP...)
