BD1600A firmare upgrade

Nov 5, 2010 12:47AM PDT

I have not needed to upgrade before now but AVATAR finally made me.
My Firmware is BEv1.0-090327A-XEF
I loaded up the 2.12 software to USB.
Followed the instructions but got an error. The Samsung Suppport site has an announcement saying "early versions don't read a header....." Unfortunately the full thread does not open so I'm stuck.
Any advise welcome

EMAPhil,

First, make sure that you've downloaded the most recent firmware from your region (Check the Samsung.com site, on the bottom of any page, make sure your country is reflected).

Next, the download is usually in a zip format. Make sure you unpack it to a freshly formatted thumbdrive.

Does that help?

No that didn't sort it. Iam sure I have the latest version now on both CD and USB.
Your support page has a thread that seems to say versions as early as mine won't read a "header".
The trouble is I cannot open the full message. Tha site just says system error. I assume I need an intermediate step such as BEv1.X instead of going to BEv2.12.
Thanks for responding so quick.

EMAPhil,

Unfortunately, I don't have any further information on the 'header' problem, and I'm not sure how that ties in with firmware updates. However, I would definitely recommend contacting the Samsung service center in your region. They would be able to better address this and can escalate the problem on the website or provide a solution.
