bd1250 - Windows 7 upgrade

by anthonyhamblin / November 2, 2009 5:13 AM PST

I never had issues with PC Streaming onto the BD1250 when i had XP.
Now i have Windows 7 it askes for user name and passwords, and also claims there is no shared folder.
I have tried all combination of user names and passwords, including nothing. I have messed around with the sharing settings but it still is not seeing any of my files.

I thought that the homegroup was supposed to make these things easier?

I have already done all the updates available on both PC and Blu-ray.

Any ideas?

Thank you very much!

You might want to try to make sure that you have saved the media you want to stream to the Windows7 shared or public folder. If you have created folders within the shared folder, you might have to turn on the file sharing within those folders as well.

Here's a link for the homegroups tutorial from Windows' side:

windows 7 issue
by anthonyhamblin / November 3, 2009 2:26 AM PST

I have saved it in the homegroups folder which is shared across my network.
i have also tried folders in several places all of which i have shared with homegroup/private/public/everyone etc.

It seems to be a problem with the Bluray speaking to the computer.
as i was saying it worked without any issues with XP - i didn't even need a username or password. maybe something there has changed?

Thanks for your quick response.

Any progress regarding Windows 7 and BD1250 PC Streaming?

In reply to: windows 7 issue

I have a similar setup and have not been able to stream from my Windows 7 Laptop to the BluRay receiver. I've been searching for resolution over the net, live chatted with Samsung and went back to the salesperson at Best resolution found. I would appreciate any assistance someone can offer.

Thank you

Help, my PC with Windows 10 won't shut down properly

Since upgrading to Windows 10 my computer won't shut down properly. I use the menu button shutdown and the screen goes blank, but the system does not fully shut down. The only way to get it to shut down is to hold the physical power button down till it shuts down. Any suggestions?
