BD-P1600 Will not play Bluray after firmware upgrade

I just upgraded to new firmware and no Bluray will play. I insert, it loads and the TV goes black. Player display in MENU and the only functions that work are eject or power off.

With the unit powered on and the disc tray empty, press and hold the STOP button on the unit. You should be prompted to select the language, but that should reset the firmware to the most recently installed one.
