BD-P1600 rejecting Blu-Ray discs

We have played over 50 Blue-ray discs over six months with no problems, plus Netflix streaming and Pandora.

I think I have the latest software updates. It's updated several times in the past months. When I checked this morning it said I had the latest updates.

Last night we paused a movie, a few minutes later hit play but it wouldn't continue. I turned the player off and then back on. From then on I get an error message saying it can't read this disc. The tray automatically opens.

Same thing with all (several other) Blu-ray discs, but it works fine with DVDs even computer made ones.

I tried resetting the player a couple of times using FF>>, but that doesn't help.

Any suggestions?

Is it possible to revert back to an earlier version?

It is entirely possible to do that. Unfortunately, I don't have every firmware update readily available - particularly 2.03, but I could ask on Monday. There are links to some of the other archived ones in some of the various forums.

Now have firmware v2.05 - but same problem exists

I thought it was a dream come true. A new firmware update was available this morning. But I still have the same problem. Everything else seems to work, including audio CDs (which I had never played on this before)

Does this sound a firmware problem?

That it happened in the middle of a movie is odd.

Same error with v1.04 and 1.03

I have subsequently loaded v1.04 and then v1.03 and still have the same problem.

Cannot read this disc error.

Any suggestions?
