BD-P1600 Firmware Upgrade Problem

by dustinmeyer / August 20, 2010 12:20 PM PDT

Hi,

I just recently downloaded and installed the latest Firmware Upgrade to my Blu-Ray player BD-P1600. It downloaded, and installed just fine. However, when it asked me to press 1 for English during the setup, it seems that none of the buttons on my remote are doing anything. I keep pressing 1 to begin the setup portion, but nothing happens.

Any ideas?

Thanks.
Dustin

dustinmeyer,

I'm sorry to hear that you're having this issue.

With the tray empty, try to press the FF>> button to see if the unit is able to reset.

I tried holding down the FF >> button on the remote for 30 seconds and it just keeps showing me the initial setup menu.

dustinmeyer,

Outside of checking for fresh batteries or something in front of the unit, it may be that the IR receiver may have an issue, or the remote may have an issue. Unfortunately, it'd be difficult to determine which.

Try unplugging the unit and holding down STOP for 10 seconds to see if that brings back functionality. If that doesn't work, you may want to contact Samsung to set up a service for the unit.
