BD-P1600 and customer support: more problems!

I am one of the people here whose unit was bricked by a firmware update, and my unit had a disc stuck inside.

1. When I was sent a new unit without my Blu-Ray disc, I called again and was given a point of contact to send my proof of purchase to. I was told that I would be reimbursed for my lost Blu-Ray. I faxed in my info and...nothing. That was weeks ago.

2. My new BD-P1600 plays terribly. We tried "Three Sheets" Season 3, disc 1 (DVD) and it wouldn't play at all. We tried "How I Met Your Mother" Season 2, disc 1 (DVD) and it wouldn't play at all. So, after weeks of saying "no way", I agreed to update the firmware to 2.05. Three Sheets played OK, but not perfect. HIMYM still will not play. We did recently watch one Blu-Ray ("State of Play") without incident. If this unit cannot even play simple DVDs, we're going to have to come up with another solution (like a refund.)

I'm out $200 for the BD-P1600, $28 for the Blu-Ray disc ("Mad Men" Season 2) and I still don't have a player that works right.

Has anybody here had either problem happen to them?
