BD-P1500 Video Problems

Mar 2, 2009 8:51AM PST

When a Blu Ray disk is loading the video is fine but right before the Disk Menu comes up, the video turns to grey with static. I can hear the sound through my reciever and if I remove the HDMI cable and reinstall the picture comes on and the movie plays fine.

I have replaced the HDMI cable and changed to HDMI 3 on my TV. I also reset the player and updated firm ware through the USB port.

I called Samsung and they said to return the player. It is a refurbish player and afraid that I may exchange it for something worse.

Could it be the settings (I configured them to 1080p & 24 frames) or my TV? or should I just exchange it?

Any help would be appreciated. Thanks

Your TV

Joniceguy,

Does your TV accept a 24fps input? Try switching it to 60Hz and see if that helps your picture quality.

The picture is fine once I remove & replace the HDMI cable. The player seems to lose the signal just prior to the movie menu. Although the TV does NOT say there is no signal, It becomes grey with static. I used 2 different HDMI but not sure if there are "HIGH SPEED 1.3"
