BD-P1500 Firmware 2.3

Feb 15, 2009 7:33PM PST

Hello. I have a LA46A650 TV and BD-P1500 Blu-Ray Player. I noticed sometimes when playing any of my DVDs there is a communication problem that can cause the DVD picture to break-up and/or lose sound. If I turn everything off, then on again it is ok. I still have the original firmware on the player as I cannot update it: the player says "Cannot Read This Type Of Disc" and ejects it. I have downloaded the zip file, unpacked it to an .iso file and saved it as an image file on a CD via Nero: twice so far. Once it burnt as a .iso file and once as a .RUF file: neither worked. Should I try USB? Also does this firmware fix these communications problems and does it cause problems reading some DVDs (as per other comments in this forum)? Hope you can help.
