BD-P1500 / DTS Reencode

Feb 8, 2009 6:15AM PST

Dear all,

Would it be possible not to re-encode "regular" Dolby-Digital? Basically, not re-encode anything that's lower quality than DTS? IMHO, it does make sense to downgrade DD-TrueHD to DTS, but ugrading regular DD to DTS is not buying anything IMHO, except misleading the user about the quality of the source.

Also, I never heard of a receiver that would process DTS but not DD.

Thanks
